Health & Safety

Please Note

It is NOT recommended for children under 3 years of age to use Face Paint, in accordance with many manufacturers’ guidelines. A small motif can be offered with discretion to hand/arm.

For safety reasons we cannot paint anyone who appears to be suffering from a cold sore, conjunctivitis, chicken pox, head lice or any other skin complaint, or indeed open wounds.

Faces must be squeaky clean before being painted. For added hygiene we use a clean sponge for each client.

If you are at all anxious about possible reaction to products*,  please ask one of the staff for a patch test.

Face paint should be removed with a damp cloth initially then soap and water (please avoid baby wipes) and any soiling on clothing should be soaked in cold water before laundering.

*Products applied are for professional use and conform to the EU/FDA regulations.

PLEASE NOTE Professional Face Painters are not eligible for the Disclosure and Barring Service (Formerly known as the Criminal Records Bureau), and advise this is because we should not be painting children without another adult present.  They state that Professional Face Painters do not fall within the 'eligible positions' required to carryout these checks, which are now known as Disclosure and Barring Service checks. They provided me with a link to explain further:
